Lesson 11: Get the Most Out of a Job Fair
Job fairs come in all shapes and sizes, from small community sponsored events to giant regional career expositions held at major convention centers to virtual job fairs. All job fairs have one goal in mind - to find employees.
Most job fairs consist of booths and/or tables manned by recruiters and other representatives from each organization. Attendees typically move from table to table, briefly speaking to recruiters about their company and their open positions. If interested, a recruiter may give you a business card, ask you to complete an application, or make arrangements to schedule an interview. If you are interested in the company, be sure to give the recruiter your resume and ask for a business card. Then make sure to follow up unless contacted by the company first.
