Lesson 2: Identify Career Options
Now that you have identified your interests, values, and abilities, the next step is to match those characteristics to the appropriate careers. The best way to do this is by taking a career interest inventory. You will be asked to record your results on a worksheet, called My Career Plan. Please download it now: My Career Plan.
Now go to Assignment 2.
Assignment 2
Directions: To complete this assignment, you will need to complete a career interest inventory and record your results on My Career Plan. You have two options to take the career interest inventory:
Option 1: Take the MatchMaker Assessment on the Career Cruising
Option 2: For a more detailed report and the opportunity to discuss your results with a career counselor, please consider taking the Strong Interest Inventory in the Career Services office located in Bldg 14, Room 124. This assessment takes about 30 minutes to complete. Afterwards, you’ll meet with a career counselor to discuss your results.
When you have completed an interest inventory using either Career Cruising or the Strong Interest Inventory and recorded you results on the top portion of My Career Plan, you may go on to Lesson 3.
