Welcome to the Wilkes-Barre Center!
In partnership with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry, LCCC established its Wilkes-Barre Center located at 2 Public Square in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

While responding to the training needs of business and industry, the Wilkes-Barre Center also provides a variety of opportunities for high school graduates and working adults to upgrade skills or learn new ones through both credit and credit free programs.

The Center is a complete educational training facility featuring three networked computer labs, seminar rooms, traditional class- rooms, video-conferencing equipment, "smart classrooms", roll-about units, and complete presentation equipment. The Center also offers unique 13-week class schedules for students' convenience.

The Wilkes-Barre Center is here to help you no matter where you are in your education journey. Let our dedicated staff help you:

  • Apply to the college
  • Scheduling and completing your placement test
  • Registering for classes
  • Assistance with academic advisement and support
  • Signing up for a tutor
  • Campus tours
  • And much more...

With both in-person and online classes available, the Wilkes-Barre Center offers the following degree programs:

  • A.S. Criminal Justice
  • A.S. General Studies
  • A.S. Social Work
  • A.A.S. Criminal Justice
  • A.A.S. Human Services
  • A.A.S. Legal Assisting (Paralegal)

Looking for something a bit different?

  • Still in high school? No problem! High school students can start earning college before even graduating (at a much lower tuition rate).
  • Students can complete a wide range of General Education requirements for a variety of other programs.
  • Attending another college/university? Students can enroll as visiting student.

The Adult Learners' Training and Assistance (ALTA) Program

The Adult Learners' Training and Assistance Program (ALTA) has offered adult learning since 1987 through free programs here at the Wilkes-Barre center (as well as at two other LCCC sites). Programs are designed to enhance adult learners' basic skills through classes in high school equivalency (GED) preparation, English As a Second Language instruction, Family Literacy, and Digital Literacy. These educational programs help adults with the skills and knowledge to achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. For more information, and to be placed on the list for classes, please visit https://www.luzerne.edu/workforce/alta/.
