KEYS

Q. After submitting my Reverse Referral, how long until I am officially accepted?
A. The KEYS Staff has 3 days to submit your Reverse Referral to the County Assistance Office (CAO), and the CAO has 2 weeks to determine eligibility for referral.

Q. Does KEYS pay tuition?
A. No. KEYS funds are not permitted to be used for tuition or fees.

Q. Can I purchase an item I need and then get reimbursed?
A. No. All KEYS participants must submit a Special Allowance request and wait for approval from the CAO to receive KEYS funds to make the purchase.

Q. What happens if I do not submit my receipt by the deadline?
A. The CAO will issue an overpayment for the funds supplied for this purchase.

Q. How long does it take for me to receive my funds for a Special Allowance from the CAO?
A. The CAO has up to 14 calendar days to process your request.

Q. How do I report my hours?
A. You will receive an email to your student email account at the beginning of each month asking you to verify your attendance and notify us of any missed class time by responding to the email within 5 days.

Q. Does the KEYS Program pay for routine vehicle maintenance?
A. SNAP Students - No. The KEYS program does not pay for routine maintenance such as State Inspection, Emissions, and oil changes. TANF Students - Yes. The KEYS program can assist with these costs for work, school, and approved activities.

Q. Do I have to enroll full time at LCCC to be in the KEYS Program?
A. No. It is recommended that you complete at least 16 credits per academic year.

Q. Can I enroll in any program of study at LCCC?
A. No. General Studies is not a supported academic program by the KEYS Program.

Q. Can I be in the KEYS Program if I am working towards my GED?
A. Yes. The KEYS Program can support any qualifying students working towards their GED at an LCCC Campus.


AREI

Q. Does AREI pay past balances from LCCC?
A. No. Students are responsible for any past balance prior to enrollment in AREI.

Q. Does AREI provide tuition assistance?
A. Yes. AREI has a tuition incentive program where qualified students can earn assistance with tuition gaps by successfully completing classes and program requirements.

Q. Do I have to complete a FASFA?
A. Yes. All students are required to complete a FASFA regardless of eligibility prior to being considered for tuition assistance.

Q. Can I enroll in any program of study at LCCC?
A. No. AREI does not support students enrolled in any continuing education programs or an associates in general studies.


NEPA RISE

Q. Does the RISE Program have open enrollment?
A. No. Cohorts are developed annually from applications collected throughout the year that begin each Fall semester.

Q. Does it matter which county I live in to apply for RISE?
A. Yes. Only students who reside in Luzerne or Lackawanna Counties are eligible for the RISE Program.

Q. Do I need to be enrolled full time at LCCC?
A. Yes. RISE requires all students to enroll full time.

Q. Can I attend any LCCC Campus to participate in RISE?
A. No. All RISE students are required to take at least one class on main campus.
