Position Title: FT Endpoint Manager Position Classification: Full-Time Administration Minimum Position Qualifications:
This individual will oversee a small team of Endpoint Technicians, ensuring efficient deployment, maintenance, security, operation, and support for all endpoint devices within the organization. This includes, but not limited to, traditional computing devices (desktops, laptops, printers, IoT) as well as specialized endpoints like VoIP phones and video surveillance systems. The role requires strong technical expertise across diverse technologies coupled with leadership skills to mentor and develop the team's capabilities. Supervise and guide a team of Endpoint Technicians, assigning tasks, setting goals, and monitoring performance; conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and foster collaboration; provide ongoing development opportunities to enhance the team's technical skills and knowledge across diverse endpoint technologies (desktops, laptops, printers, VoIP phones, video surveillance systems); mentor technicians, offering guidance on troubleshooting techniques, best practices, and task priorities. Actively collaborate with other IT teams, including network administrators, security specialists, and helpdesk personnel to ensure seamless endpoint integration and troubleshooting; provide feedback to help improve endpoint management policies and procedures. Develop and implement a comprehensive endpoint management strategy aligned with organizational goals and security requirements; oversee the lifecycle of all endpoints, from procurement and deployment to decommissioning; establish standardized procedures for imaging, configuration, software deployment, and patching across all device types. Provide expert-level technical support for a wide range of endpoint issues, including VoIP phone connectivity, video surveillance system functionality, standard desktop/laptop troubleshooting, and software installation. Act as the primary escalation point for unresolved technical issues, collaborating with senior team members or other IT departments to find solutions; assist team in the configuration, imaging, and deployment of desktops, laptops, web cameras, speakers, printers, phones, virtual machines/workstations and other endpoint devices; coordinate the setup, installation, and troubleshooting of printers, scanners, and other peripherals; maintain inventory and ensure adequate supplies, such as toner and paper, are stocked; develop and maintain a knowledge base of troubleshooting solutions and best practices tailored to each endpoint type; act as an escalation point for unresolved technical issues, collaborating with other IT teams to find solutions; backfill the IT helpdesk during high-volume periods, responding to a wide range of technical support requests. Utilize monitoring tools to track endpoint performance across all device types, identify potential issues, and proactively address them; analyze endpoint utilization data to optimize resource allocation and improve overall system efficiency; implement security measures to protect all endpoints from threats and ensure data confidentiality. Utilize server or cloud-based solutions (e.g., Active Directory, Device Management platforms) for centralized endpoint management, software distribution, and patching. Maintain accurate records of all endpoint inventory, including device specifications, locations, assigned users, and relevant details specific to VoIP phones (extensions) and video surveillance systems (camera locations); track software licenses and warranties to ensure compliance and minimize costs; develop and maintain detailed documentation for endpoint configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and security policies tailored to each endpoint type.
