Position Title: FT IT Systems Administrator

Position Classification: Full-Time Twelve (12) Month Faculty

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Academic Rank: Instructor

  1. Education - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technology field.

  2. Experience - Three (3) years of IT experience is required; three (3) years of system administration experience, and two (2) years of experience with relational databases is preferred.

  3. Skills - Knowledge of database software and administrative systems; operating systems including Linux and Windows; database software preferably Unidata, MySQL and MS SQL; ability to manage user accounts including creating, modifying, and deleting for assigned systems as needed; set up and manage cyber security based on industry trends; ability to apply updates, SSL certificates and configure software pertaining to administrative systems; knowledge of a variety of personal computer applications; strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of College personnel; ability to troubleshoot user and system problems; work independently, multi-task, and manage competing priorities; collaborate effectively with vendors and external support teams; keep current with changing technologies.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Responsible for server support, endpoints, database administration, database support and database maintenance of student/staff facing technologies; responsible for administration of user accounts, cyber security of assigned servers, and system hardware for assigned systems, for setting up and supporting related system printers, for enhancements and/or customizing of student information system application codes; works with users to troubleshoot and enhance student/staff facing systems; responsible for system backups; for installation and support of client software used to connect to student/staff systems; continues to support the on premise system plus assist with cloud migration; responsible for the core codes within the student information system; works with system configuration and solves user hardware and software problems; perform other related duties as assigned.

    Entry Salary: $48,168/annual

    Standard Work Week: 35
