Position Title: FT Employee Compensation/Benefits Technician

Position Classification: Full-Time Classified

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - High School diploma, preferably some formal training beyond high school

  2. Experience - Two (2) years appropriate office experience preferably in the field of Human Resources

  3. Skills - Ability to develop office procedures, preferably in the area of employee compensation and benefits administration; skill in interpersonal relationships; ability to function effectively with minimal supervision using a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality; proficiency in typing or using a keyboard; proficiency in using a desktop computer, specifically in the area of HRIS, MS Office and database is preferred; ability to communicate both orally and in writing; knowledge of employee benefit programs is preferred

    Position Responsibilities:

    Responsible for assisting the Human Resources Office in carrying out the various benefit programs and procedures for the College; responsible for recording, verifying and updating of all personnel absence which include: sick, vacation, personal, compensatory time, and all other paid or unpaid absences; process and staff all overtime requests; responds to personnel inquiries regarding absence and benefits; assists in the processing of Compensation claims; prepares monthly statements for employees regarding employee accumulated absence; updates the college''Â'''s sick banks and furnishes information on request; maintains the college retirement plans and tax shelter options; process and prepare payments for all medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA and retirements; updates, balances and tracks all personnel benefit extensions; process tuition waiver and reimbursement requests; maintains accurate benefit files and documents for all government agencies; updates employee benefit files in the HRIS and database; prepares annual cost analysis statement of benefits for employees; interview, train and supervise work study students.

    Entry Salary: $27,300

    Standard Work Week: 35 hours
