LCCC AllOne Recovery Educational Institute (AREI)


Luzerne County Community College's AllOne Recovery Educational Institute (AREI) provides innovative and holistic support for students in recovery to achieve their educational and career goals while sustaining their recovery.

Onsite Certified Recovery Specialists are instrumental in providing the peer support needed to foster college students' success in recovery. Additionally, within the LCCC community, student clubs and student advocacy organizations will support awareness and participate in recovery efforts.


Who qualifies for AREI?

Students in recovery for at least 6 months and who have the vocational calling, personal aptitude, and motivation to complete a program of study at Luzerne County Community College.

Why AREI?

AREI provides Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) and Student Facilitator services on-site:

  • Certified Recovery Specialists are instrumental in providing the peer support necessary to foster the success of college students in recovery.
  • Student Facilitator provides academic and career planning support which keeps students focused on their completion goals.

AREI can provide intensive support for students to succeed academically. These services include:

  • Assessment and development of individualized academic, financial, and personal success plan
  • Assessment, planning and support for an individualized career goal leading to gainful employment
  • Connections to timely personalized information and services to sustain recovery and meet goals
  • Frequent and consistent contact with AREI team staff
  • CRS bi-weekly check ins
  • Embedded and on-going academic support
  • Emergency assistance
  • On-site Food Pantry
  • Community referral for legal services
  • Tuition Assistance Incentive Program***: Coordinated social and financial support services beyond individual student federal and state grants.
