Security/Central Storage/Printing (Building 1)
Building 1 is one of those places you visit when you first arrive at LCCC. Here is where you will find the office of Campus Security where you get your student ID, and is the location for lost & found, parking permits, reporting accidents, paying parking tickets, campus emergencies, and all other security needs.
Printing/Publications: The College's graphic designer, printing staff and print shop are located in Building All campus publications and printing needs are completed here.
Central Storage: This area is responsible for the College's supply and delivery needs.
Trades Center (Building 2)
This facility is home to LCCC's trade programs of Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning; Building Maintenance; and Electrical Construction. LCCC is the area's leader in education and training in the trades fields. Students work with the tools and equipment used in residential and commercial buildings.
Founders Hall (Building 3)
This high-tech building is where many of the College's general education classes are taught. Many of the classes are smart-classroom enabled with electronic teaching aids, and three open computer labs.
Luzerne Hall (Building 4)
LCCC is home to one of the area's most advanced science programs with five science laboratories filled with advanced scientific equipment. All of the College's science classes are located in Building 4: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Pre-Professional, and more. In addition to the sciences, Luzerne Hall houses many classrooms designed for multiple curriculums.
Enrollment and Admissions Center (Building 5)
Whether you are applying to LCCC, registering for classes, looking for financial aid, or paying a bill, the Enrollment and Admissions Center is the hub of LCCC's daily operations. Here you can find the Admissions Office, Registrar's Office, Financial Aid Office, Business Office, Academic Affairs Office, Distance Education Office, Student Development, President's Office, Switchboard, and the Mailroom.
Library (Building 6)
Shhhh! Students are studying and researching at the LCCC Library which holds the College's media and book collections with over 65,000 titles, study area, periodical and reference areas, microfilm, and archives. The library's digital collections include nearly 200,000 ebooks and subscriptions to 85 research databases, which provide access to thousands of full-text scholarly journals, primary source documents, and streaming digital media. The library research databases can be accessed off-campus by LCCC students, faculty, and staff with a valid college e-mail account. It's also a great quiet place to study for your tests.
Business and Information Science Building (Building 7)
This building houses two of LCCC's most popular programs: Business and Computer Information Systems. Building 7 holds seven PC computer labs and a Mac lab, plus classrooms filled with the latest hardware and software currently used in these fields. LCCC's ACT Center, a computer-based testing and computer certification center, is located here. Programs offered include: Accounting, Business, Legal Assisting, Computer Information Systems, Court Reporting, Medical Office, Office Information Technology, and Web Development.
James T. Atherton Gymnasium (Building 8)
The James T. Atherton Gymnasium, is named after retired LCCC men's basketball coach and Luzerne County and PA Sports Hall of Famer, James Atherton. The regulation-sized gym is home to the Trailblazer sports teams, plus coaches offices, basketball court, intercollegiate and intramural activities, and health classes.
College Hall (Building 9)
College Hall houses classrooms, faculty offices, and the AllOne Recovery Educational Institute.
Educational Conference Center (Building 10)
The Educational Conference Center at Luzerne County Community College is a state-of-the-art meeting and conference center facility which offers an ideal setting for hosting conferences, business meetings, off-site training retreats as well as a variety of special events. The Center proudly offers guests the use of two auditoriums, several multi-functional classrooms including the latest in presentation technology, a full-service dining room designed to cater to your individual needs, and Wi-Fi access throughout.
Community Educational Partnership Center (Building 11)
This facility houses the local Head Start program and various other community learning programs.
Technology Center (Building 12)
Most of the College's technology programs can be found in the Technology Center: Broadcast Communications programs, the student-run WSFX radio station and Luzerne TV television studio, Commercial Art Department, Broadcast Communications, Automotive, Photography, Architectural Engineering, Computerized Numerical Control, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Computer Systems Technology, Diesel Technology, Engineering, Welding, and more. The Center is an interesting mix of creative expression and technical know-how.
Physical Plant (Building 13)
The Physical Plant houses the maintenance staff and equipment of the campus.
Campus Center and Schulman Gallery(Building 14)
This three story building is the hub of all campus activity. It's a great place to relax, eat, shop, and have fun.
1st Floor (bottom floor) - Counseling and Student Support Offices, Career Services, KEYS program, Accessibility Office, Information Technology Department, Development Program, Tutoring, and Placement Testing.
2nd Floor - Schulman Gallery, Fitness Center & Aerobic Room, Game Room, Student Lounge, Student Activity and Athletics Office, Foundation (scholarship info), Alumni Office, College Relations and Marketing Offices.
3rd Floor (top floor) - Cafeteria, Rotunda and the College's Bookstore.
Culinary Arts Building (Building 30)
LCCC's culinary building located in downtown Nanticoke offers students individualized cooking stations that are equipped with all cooking equipment and gadgets, a pastry lab, a line kitchen with attached dining room, a computer/learning resource center, smart classrooms, two student lounges, rest rooms with lockers and showers.
The Institute also features the Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Room, a climate controlled chocolate/sugar room, and the Kowalski Auditorium and Media Center, a state-of-the-art broadcasting studio with a demonstration kitchen and the latest technology including video conferencing and high definition video capabilities, and an auditorium for culinary demonstrations. It is also home to LCCC's television show Cooking Classic.
Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Sciences Center (Building 31)
The Health Sciences building located in downtown Nanticoke is home to LCCC's health sciences programs including Nursing, Dental, Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, and Emergency Services Technology programs. The Benco Dental Health Clinic provides low-cost preventative dental health services to the public and special community groups. The health sciences labs, featuring equipment found in dental offices and hospitals, highlight the facility.
Public Safety Training Center
Even heroes need a place to train. Luzerne County Community College Regional Public Safety Training Center is designed to provide the emergency training the region needs. The institute focuses on technical field training; the physical hands on training needed to handle emergency situations. Training skills including firefighting, search and rescue, lethal weapons training, and emergency vehicle maneuvers are intended to make sure personnel know appropriate skills to reduce injuries and save lives. Training courses are designed to encourage students to make the right decisions in possible life-and-death situations. This facility can train more than 4,000 fire fighters, emergency medical technicians, and police officers as well as enhance LCCC's credit curriculum for its Criminal Justice, EMT and Fire Science programs. Also includes a low-speed driving track, skid pad, helicopter landing pad and additional props for first responder training.
PSTI Burn Building
The Burn Building is firefighting prop where firefighers can practice fighting blazes within a controlled burn environment that represents several different building environments from a home to a tall building.
Baseball Field
Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers baseball team is two-time defending EPCC champion. Men's baseball has two seasons, Fall and Spring. Between the two seasons, the team plays 40 games. Besides the conference games, LCCC plays the local four-year colleges and universities JV teams so that the local colleges can see the prospects that play for the Trailblazers.
Softball Field
The Trailblazers softball team competes in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX. They play only spring softball. Besides the conference games they play the local four-year colleges to showcase the abilities of the Trailblazers so the local colleges can recruit the local talent.
Walk of Honor
Luzerne County Community College's Walk of Honor offers a reflective memorial space dedicated to the memories of first responders who have lost their lives. More than 100 other plaques, bricks and benches that are placed around the memorial. The College hosts a Community Safety Day and September 11th Remembrance Ceremony annually to recognize the everyday heroes in our lives. The bricks, plaques and benches are a beautiful and permanent part of the Luzerne County Community College campus.
