Position Title: FT Dean of Curriculum

Position Classification: Full-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum, Educational Leadership, or related field and at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience; or Doctoral Degree with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience.

  2. Experience - Minimum five (5) years experience in higher education; Post-secondary teaching experience required; experience in curriculum development and faculty development preferred; experience with survey research, focus groups, industry panels, basic statistics analysis, and computer-based statistical software preferred.

  3. Skills - Demonstrated ability in the areas of curriculum development, evaluation, and academic assessment; demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to major issues and emerging trends in post-secondary education; demonstrated effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking, problem solving, team building, public speaking and mediation; proven leadership abilities and a commitment to ongoing professional development; proficiency in use of data systems and data analytics to support informed decision making; demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college; commitment to fostering an inclusive campus environmental and respect for individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities and needs; demonstrated alignment with the philosophy and purpose of a comprehensive community college.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Lead and support academic departments in the course and program academic audit processes; assist academic departments in the revision, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of curriculums, programs, and courses; guide faculty through course and program approval process including new program development, revisions, and deletions; facilitate the creation, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of new curriculums, programs, and services, including collaboration across Academic Affairs and Workforce development and Career Education; maintain, review, and update internal and external materials, systems, and resources that support curriculum and program review, approval, documentation, and compliance; review and update policies and procedures related to curriculum development and academic processes; collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate student learning outcomes assessment activities and continuous improvement efforts; design and support needs assessments and other evaluation processes ( e.g. focus groups, industry panels, surveys, etc.) as part of academic audits and program review activities; assist academic departments with program accreditation processes and serve as a liaison with accreditation agencies; collaborate in the development and delivery of professional development workshops, orientations, and trainings for faculty and staff focused on curriculum and program design; support students in achieving academic goals and objectives through effective program planning and delivery; guide department chairs, coordinators, faculty, and staff in the use of technology solutions to improve academic process and operational effectiveness; coordinate faculty workload assignments with Human Resources and Finance Offices; monitor and support the Academic Affairs budget in coordination with the Vice Presidents; assist academic departments in the development and operation of business and industry advisory committees; conduct programmatic and institutional research as requested by the Vice President of Academic Affairs; serve as a curriculum liaison with federal, state, and local agencies, including PDE, TAOC; serve on institutional committees aligning with job responsibilities, including Core Team, Assessment Council, General Education Committee, and Program & Service Review; collaborate with the Director of Workforce Development and Career Education and external industry partners, including initiatives such as Early College Programs, Micro-Credential Academies, Act 120 Programs, and Career and Technology Academies; serve as the primary liaison for the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs related to accreditation activities; assist with the development, coordination, and management of college-wide grant initiatives, including serving as liaison for the Perkins Grant; other related duties as assigned.

    Entry Salary: $87,295.64/ annual

    Standard Work Week: 35 hours
