Luzerne County Community College Receives Pennsylvania Hunger-Free Campus Designation

Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the Pennsylvania Hunger-Free Campus designation. This recognition, granted by the Shapiro Administration, highlights LCCC's commitment to addressing food insecurity among college students.*

According to recent research, approximately one-third of college students experience food insecurity, which poses significant barriers to their academic success. With this designation, Luzerne County Community College will be able to apply for the PA Hunger-Free Campus grant program, which offers vital resources to further enhance initiatives focused on combating food insecurity among students and their families.

Rebecca Brominski, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Foundation at LCCC, expressed her gratitude, stating, "We are honored to have been recognized as a PA Hunger-Free Campus by the Shapiro Administration and the PA Department of Education. Luzerne County Community College is committed to fighting hunger and food insecurity among our students and their families."

As LCCC moves forward, it will continue to develop resources and programs that support students in their educational endeavors, ensuring that no student has to face hunger during their academic journey.
