7/29/2022 - Accessing Your Student Microsoft 365 Outlook Email Starting 8/01/22
Directions on how to access your new Microsoft 365 Outlook LCCC email account starting on 8/01/22 (active students only) are available here:
https://luzerneccc-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/bmihneski_luzerne_edu/EkIFHDNyBfZDn0xyOQhgGsgBU6qOZJh979a7KZiyHxL42w?e=MueJmMYou can access your new Microsoft 365 Outlook LCCC email by logging into https://outlook.office.com/mail/ using your current student email address (for example ab0123456@student.luzerne.edu) as your Username and your existing network/Wi-Fi account Password to access your new Microsoft 365 Outlook email account and to access Microsoft Online software. (NOTE that your network, wi-fi, M365 software, and email passwords are now the same.)
PLEASE NOTE that you are now required to setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to access your new student email account. This is a security measure which helps validate and secure access to your student email account. In addition to your password, you will be prompted to enter a 6-digit verification code to log into your email account. You have three options to setup MFA, as summarized below:
(1) Setup MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator App - This is the recommended method since it is the most secure if you own a smartphone. Please download the Microsoft Authenticator app https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/mobile-authenticator-app to complete the MFA setup.
(2) Setup MFA using a Phone Number - If you do not own a smartphone or if you prefer to authenticate by a text message or by a phone call, you can setup a phone number instead of using the Authentication app. You have the option to either text the 6-digit code to your cell phone or you can have Microsoft call you when you login - you will simply need to press the pound key (#) once you answer the phone call to confirm that it is you attempting to log in.
(3) Setup MFA using an alternative email account - If you prefer to use an alternate email account to authenticate instead, you may do so instead of using the App or the Phone option. The verification code will be sent to that email alternate address when you attempt to login.
Please contact the LCCC Help Desk if you have any questions either by phone or stop by in person (Building 14, Room 106) from 8AM to 11AM or 5PM to 7PM, Mondays through Fridays.
Thank you.
